Recherches et fragments
Research and Fragments is a project around the agricultural ruins of the lower Saint-Laurent river, QC.

Wooden workbench from the barn, ceramic and smoke, 270 x 80 cm. Produced during the L’AN IN IIII residency.
First, artists Joël Nadeau-Gauthier, Denis Lahais, and Pier-Luc Lussier cataloged and dismantled a typical barn from the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, abandoned and destined for destruction.

Following Joël Nadeau-Gauthier’s residency invitation, I was led to continue their research on this monument. I then cast the fragments of this ruined barn; I serially reproduced this memory of the ordinary, destined to fall into oblivion, in order to preserve and magnify this rural agricultural heritage of the Bas-Saint-Laurent river, and finally burned the pieces, revealing the fossils of a previous era.
